Get Well Soon Daddy
Peyton and I continue to improve each day, but Marshall is still having a rough time of things. Peyton was kind enough to make Daddy these beautiful pictures to help him feel better.

So everyone is sick at our house this weekend. My mom came to help yesterday morning, and we got her sick too. Fortunately, she was able to help when we most needed it. (Thanks Mom…..again.) She took Peyton to the pediatrician yesterday afternoon for me while I went to my own doctor’s appointment. Marshall has been sick since Wednesday, worse than both of us by far. Peyton and I are on the mend I think, but he’s still struggling. Hopefully, he gets better soon. There are things that daddies just do better.
Easter 2009
My sister and I took Peyton to my parents’ house for Easter last weekend. Peyton had a great time, and my sister used our camera to take a lot of great pics. Saturday morning, we took Peyton to the Benton courthouse for an Easter Egg hunt. She didn’t like the crowd running out onto the lawn to pick up eggs, but she had a good time other than that. We took her to a friend’s house later that day to play on the slide in the backyard. I would say that she wore herself out, but honestly I think she could have kept going. Sunday, we took some pictures before church. Peyton didn’t really want to be bothered with it, but we managed to get a few pics where she’s looking at the camera. (I’ve loaded these pics as a gallery. You can click on any of them to start paging through them. When you get one loaded, you can click on the picture at the bottom left to go to the previous picture, and you can click on the picture at the bottom right to go to the next picture. You can also double click on the image to load it full screen.)
Peyton and the tampon obsession
As some of you know, Peyton has had an obsession with pulling feminine hygiene products out of the bathroom cabinet since she was old enough to crawl. We’re not really sure what the fascination is, but apparently it’s not just “a phase” she’s going through. I used to take a lot of pictures because it was so funny, but I eventually slowed down since it was such a regular occurrence. However, she caught our attention the other day, and so I got out the camera. She was quite proud of herself and refused to take the box off her head for quite some time…..

Peyton’s First Swing

We still don’t know how Pop got that swing hung, but we know Peyton loves to swing. Thanks Pop!!
proud moment
So I have been anxiously waiting for Peyton to start speaking more than one word at a time. I had read that the “experts” say 2 word phrases start happening around 18 months and the pediatrician kept quizzing me about it at her 18 month checkup as if he were a little concerned. Well, 18 months came and went back in December and still no more than single words to tell us what she wanted. LOTS of words mind you, but only one at a time. This weekend though, Peyton decided to start spitting out complete sentences. “I get ball.” “I get apple.” “I go outside.” It’s the most adorable thing. Most sentences start with “I get….”, but I’m very impressed by all of it of course. You almost want to give her whatever she asks for, just because she said it in sentence form. Last night, I had a very proud moment due to her newly found language skills. I was walking into the bedroom. Peyton came running after me. “Mama! Mama!” “What baby?” “I get kiss! I get kiss!” I bent down, and sure enough, she gave me one of her sweet baby kisses.
Proud mama.
Adrienne’s first blog
Ok, so Marshall was kind enough to set up a blog for me. He made the first post last week to try it out. Now it’s my turn. I thought I would attach some pictures too. Marshall took these today. More silliness to come…

Peyton is kingella free!
Posted by The Family in Peyton on March 15th, 2009
Friday’s trip to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital marked the end of Peyton’s kingella infection. After a brief exam, the doctor said our little girl was finally well. No more antibiotics, no more IV’s…she is free!!
